Can you assume dignity and importance by criticizing those who assume too much dignity or importance? If an art show was held in the woods and no one was around to presume their own superiority by noting the snobbery of the rich people who attend art shows, does it really happen at all? If Thomas Kinkade were to paint that art show in the woods, would anyone at the art show appreciate it?
These are questions that religion and philosophy have sought to answer for millenia. It's about time the art community participated as well. I liked the post.
